In the hot summer of 2017 I met Johny Davies, founder of Peckham Cuts at his walk in ‘dubplate-cutting’ shop in Peckham. I wanted to know more about this mysterious practice Johny had turned into a business, so I asked if I could make a film about him. Johny agreed and the filming resulted in this trailer which became part of a pitching proposal. After pitching the idea to Resident Advisor Films I successfully secured a commission. The sixteen-minute documentary is directed and produced by McAlpine Films and is now featured on Resident Advisor’s site with 70k views and counting.
